Ingredients:
- 1 medium red onion
- 5 small cloves of garlic
- 50g dried tomatoes
- 1 chilli pepper
- A bunch of mint
- 400g ground beef
- 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp mayo
- 1 lime
- 2 tsp xylitol
- A bunch of dill
- Vegetable oil to cook
- Your favorite hot sauce
Instructions:
- Prepare the meat addons. Very finely dice the onion, chilli and tomatoes. Mince the garlic. Chop the mint.
- Combine with the meat (but reserve 1 tbsp of diced onion, you will need it for the sauce), add 1 tbsp of the yogurt. Add the cumin, paprika, turmeric, salt and pepper. Mix well and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour.
- Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. Mix 1 tbsp of Greek yogurt, 1 tbsp of onion, the mayo, juice of half a lime, xylitol, salt and pepper. Also finely chop the dill and add it to the sauce. Mix well and let the flavors combine for at least half an hour in the fridge.
- Form your ćevapi (60-80g seems to be a nice amount for me) and cook them with some vegetable oil. I fried them for 8 minutes, turning slightly a few times. This should form a nice crust all over the meat but still remain juicy inside.
- Plate it up by pouring some of our dill sauce over the ćevapi, adding a splash of your favorite sauce, and sprinkling some dill over them. Finish it with a few mint leaves and a touch of lime juice.
