Easy Keto Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients:

For the Salisbury Steak

For the Mushroom Gravy

  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ⅛ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Xanthan Gum

 

Procedure:

  1. Make Salisbury Steaks: In a large bowl, add all the Salisbury Steak ingredients and mix using your hands until incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into 7-8 round patties.
  3. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove the patties from the pan and keep warm.
  4. Make the Mushroom Gravy: In the same skillet, saute the onion and garlic until softened.
  5. Add the mushrooms into the skillet and cook until browned.
  6. Reduce the heat and add butter. Add the gravy ingredients and whisk to combine, and no lumps are visible.
  7. Add steaks back to the pan and cook for 5 more minutes until the gravy thickens and the beef patties are completely cooked through.
  8. Taste the gravy and season to taste with salt and pepper.
